ABOUT

Shannon Lynch is a multimedia producer, host, and audio engineer with nine years of experience in political, legal, daily news, tech, and criminal justice journalism across audio and video.​

Shannon began her career in 2016 at SiriusXM, where she produced daily political news programs like The Morning Briefing and The Press Pool. In 2019, she joined the think tank New America as a podcast producer and studio manager, creating shows that explored politics, history, culture, and criminal justice reform, including Democracy Deciphered, Politics in Question, and The Alley: DC's 8th and H Case. At New America, she also expanded her expertise into video production, gaining hands-on experience with live event coverage and social media content creation.

MSNBC, NPR, The Marshall Project, Fox5 DC, WTOP, The Washingtonian, and DCW50 have all featured Shannon's work. Her show The Alley: DC's 8th and H Case was a finalist in the International Women's Podcast Awards and the Publisher Podcast Awards. Washington City Paper named The Alley the best podcast of 2024. It was also deemed "New and Noteworthy" by the Apple Podcasts editorial board in 2024. The Alley was cited in a presidential pardon application submitted to the U.S. Department of Justice. 

 

Shannon holds a master's degree in audio technology from American University. She attended Georgetown University as an undergraduate, where she double majored in political science and music. She is an alumna of the Georgetown Government Honors Program.
